Sustainable Development Forum, Belgrade 2026 | Europe’s Next Chapter

Europe is entering a new chapter: Geopolitical fragmentation, shifting global supply chains, technological disruption and the energy transition are reshaping the foundations of economic competitiveness. How can Europe strengthen its resilience, accelerate innovation and secure sustainable growth in an increasingly uncertain world? And what role can Serbia and the Western Balkans play in this transformation?

Policymakers, governments’ representatives, international financial institutions, business leaders and academics will gather in the Serbian capital to explore these questions and identify opportunities for cooperation and action. It is not just a conference, but a platform to discuss the challenges Europe is facing, the choices that come next, and the opportunities that can emerge from them. Europe’s next chapter will depend on its ability to compete, innovate and build greater resilience into the supply chains, technologies and economic systems on which its future prosperity depends.

Key topics include:
– European competitiveness and economic resilience
– Supply chains and economic security
– Energy security and industrial transformation
– Artificial intelligence and industrial innovation
– Finance and investment
– Circular economy and resource efficiency
– Serbia and the Western Balkans in Europe’s changing economy

The Forum will also feature discussions linked to our ongoing research initiative: “Serbia’s Sustainable Competitiveness – An Industrial Roadmap for Circularity, Decarbonisation and Growth in a Changing Europe.”

Event format:

26 November: Invitation-only reception and high-level discussion
27 November: Main conference at Crowne Plaza, Belgrade.
