The Startup Heatmap Europe 2023 has been launched during the DEEP Conference on 5th July in Budapest.
The study ranks Europe’s most popular destinations for hyper-mobile startup founders. Running since 2016, the Startup Heatmap is the longest continuous study of founder mobility in Europe.
The Heatmap reveals further insights about the hyper-mobility of startups in Europe.
London takes the lead from Berlin as the most popular destination among European tech founders.

We are very excited to announce the cooperation agreement signed between MALTAccelerate and 012factory, certified incubator and B Corp. Its success in boosting innovation and entrepreneurship has created the biggest tech transfer hub in southern Italy. 012factory created a number of innovation local hubs across Italy, stimulating economic development via knowledge sharing, tech transfer and networking. It is the first EU Innovation Hub to have created, adopted and fostered the collaborative development process known as Peer Innovation®. This collaboration aims to boost international knowledge and tech transfer, and develop joint projects to stimulate innovation and startups ecosystem’s growth.

Today MALTAccelerate signed the Ecosystem Leadership Agreement with DEEP Ecosystems.
Together we aim at supporting and creating ecosystem development projects and initiatives with different partners and stakeholders, with primary focus being Malta.

We are very excited to announce that Hemptech Life Ltd has today finalised their 'Engagement & Partnership Development' agreement with the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Leeds (UK), to jointly develop the 'Towards novel synthetic cannabinoids and other bio-products from C. sativa' project. The collaboration will entail joint R&D under the 'Harmonised Impact Acceleration Award' program. A new exciting R&D journey has now started for another MALTAccelerate startup!

We are delighted to announce that MALTAccelerate will take part to the 'Leveraging Deep Tech Green Transition and Digital Solutions to Transform EU Industrial Ecosystems' event. Organised by the European Commission in collaboration with DEEP Ecosystems, hosted by the Technical University of Munich, it will address the potential of deep tech and corporate open innovation for leveraging green transition and digital solutions to transform EU’s industrial ecosystems.

Today MALTAccelerate signed the licensing agreement with the EIT Climate-KIC, the main EU climate innovation initative. In partnership with MCAST, the Climaccelerator Malta will be relaunched this year to support global cleantech innovation and startups, and contributing to an effective transition to a decarbonised and sustainable economy.
In over 10 years, EIT Climate-KIC supported more than 2,000 startups, attracting over €2BN investments and creating over 3,600 jobs.

This year the Startup Festival was another success!
We were delighted to be present as Malta ClimAccelerator with our partner MCAST. We were truly excited to meet both Maltese and foreign startups developing unique solutions and holding real potential, as well as very pleased to meet new potential partners with whom sharing the successes MaltAccelerate and the ClimAccelerator program is and will enjoy.

The EIT Food Start-up Awareness Event 2023 in Malta is a training program designed to help start-ups and entrepreneurs succeed in the food sector. A new success for our startups community!
Cinteraction Labs, in partnership with the University of Malta, Department of Artificial Intelligence, has won a Technology Extension Support Programme (TESP) R&D grant for the project “Virtual Conferencing of the Future” (VCF). The project is developing a ground-breaking AI-enabled solution designed to monitor audiences’ engagement. The benefits from adopting Cinteraction Labs’ solution are many, as well as its USPs and, as indicated by Prof. Vukmirovic, co-founder, VCF applications span across various industries and verticals.
The partnership with the University of Malta will be essential in the success of the project. The expertise from Prof. Montebello and his team will be pivotal in implementing this leading-edge technology in real-world scenarios.
The TESP is managed by the Malta Council for Science & Technology.
Exciting news for our startups’ community! MIMCOL and MALTAccelerate signed an MOU to frame their collaboration and integrate the SeedInvestment Scheme within the Malta ClimAccelerator program.
This collaboration creates a robust framework to foster innovation and stimulate startups’ growth, offering startups a comprehensive support system including financial backing, mentorship and strategic guidance.
MIMCOL has been closely monitoring the significant strides and impactful activities led by MALTAccelerate in fostering innovation and supporting the growth of startups in Malta, recognising the Maltese accelerator’s commitment to cultivating the development of a vibrant ecosystem via propelling high growth startups towards success.
